about these things. After all, disturbance can be emotional, mental,
physical, metaphysical… truly, any form of reality you can imagine.
And for Edward? He is greatly disturbed by his own disconnect to
the world around him. FUNDAMENTALLY, he understands how his
emotions work; and yet, there’s a piece of that puzzle that he can
never quite fit together into neatly slotted mental categories with a
relatively quick recall, unlike others. Some people [highly overrated
buffoons with a degree to mess with your mind, of all things] might
call it Asperger’s — others, crazy. All he knows is that it’s a part of
him and however hard he may try to understand it, this disconnect
will always elude him.

FEAR is something that Edward holds dearly close to himself because
it can be used by any number of people looking to hurt him [after all,
when you hurt OTHERS like he has, you anticipate a few enemies].
One of his deeper, darker fears is becoming his father. He’s never seen
himself as abusive, but that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t be, or that
he’s an innocent angel we know he isn’t. Ed just wants to be a GOOD
PERSON and he fears that it’s impossible — he just had a bad start in
life and perhaps it’s tainted him forever.

DISGUST. It’s something that’s easy to associate with a germaphobe.
